Student Health Check
The Student Health Check gives you a concise overview of key aspects of your health at the start of the semester. It assesses your glucose and lipid metabolism, blood cell production and thyroid function, and measures key liver and kidney markers to help you better understand your organ health. Important: We recommend having lipoprotein(a), or Lp(a), measured in addition to your Student Health Check. Lp(a) is a largely genetically determined risk factor for cardiovascular disease, with elevated levels in around one in five people. Current clinical guidelines recommend measuring Lp(a) at least once in adulthood to help assess your individual cardiovascular risk. As Lp(a) levels are largely genetically determined, a single measurement in your lifetime is generally sufficient.
